Bird Watcher

So while my family and friends are back in Kentucky which is becoming the new Boston in its own way, I'm fortunate to be at Cocoa Beach!!!
After Mr. G and I settled down on the beach, we had a visitor.
 Bird Beggar?
Mr. G named him Ralph
I decided She was a Bird Watcher, watching US!
Kept her distance walking the perimeter.
Friends came by, which weren't welcomed.
ah, Mr. G was sneaking them some of this PBC.
Mr. Sea Gull Shot by Mr. G
 We have lift off!
We were out there almost 2 hours.  All the birds left except this one.
Then I stared at the bird for a while and she just stared back at me.
The thought of Mother entered my head.
At that time a mate came by, they fussed a bit & she flew off with him.
Like Daddy telling Mother, "Leave her alone, she's OK."

2 Round Crocheted Ruffled Scarf

Crocheted a hat and scarf for my Grand Daughters this past Christmas.
Sharing the directions for how I made the scarf.
I had seen the ruffled scarfs from ribbon yarn and loved the idea.
I decided to try to make one with my worsted 3 ply yarn.
I think I used a 'J' hook.
Start by very loosely making a chain as long as you like.
That is your first round.
The second round will take MUCH longer.
This is where you find out why the chains needed not to be tight.
You will be making a shell type stitch in each chain or every other chain.
In ONE chain you will crochet 6 stitches.
In the first chain back do the following:
1 single crochet (I think I learned years ago to loop over the wrong way?)
1 double crochet (1 yarn over)
(Still in the same stitch) 2 (TWO) triple crochet (2 yarn overs)
Still in same stitch, 1 double crochet (1 yarn over).
Note you are going down the other side of the shell stitch.
Finally, 1 single crochet, still in that same chain.
You now have done a total of 6 stitches inside one chain.
 Again, the 6 stitches are:
1 SC
1 DC
2 TC
1 DC
1 SC
Do these 6 stitches in each chain or at least every other chain, depending on tension.
 Regardless, be consistent.
Above, you see the 6 stitches completed inside 3 chains which produces 3 shells.

When you get to the end, you have finished round 2
and DONE!
The key is a VERY relaxed tension.
So you can make a ruffled scarf without the ribbon yarn.
Let me know if you made one and I will link to your shot if available.

Are you a yarn fanatic?
